Move gives indie unit a first-look deal with studio
Universal and its genre division Rogue PicturesRogue Pictures have entered into a multiyear production and co-financing deal with Trevor Macy and Marc EvansMarc Evans' newly formed indie production and financing unit, Intrepid Pictures.
Move gives Intrepid a first-lookfirst-look, non-exclusive pactpact with U and Rogue.
Backed by a consortium of institutional investors and a revolving credit facility led by JPMorgan Chase, Intrepid plans to produce and co-finance up to five pics per year and a minimum of eight with Rogue over the next five years.

Intrepid will back 50% of each pic it produces with Rogue as well as its own overhead and development costs.
Rogue's slate further includes "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" and "Altered," directed by "The Blair Witch Project""The Blair Witch Project" co-creator Eduardo Sanchez.
Macy's previous producing credits include Paul SchraderPaul Schrader's "Auto Focus." He was formerly chief operating officer of Propaganda FilmsPropaganda Films and veepveep of the Sundance Group.
Evans was chief financial officer of Revolution StudiosRevolution Studios for four years, responsible for all corporate and production finance planning and operations.
Before RevolutionRevolution, he worked at Turner Pictures and was veep of finance and strategic planning of the Turner Network TelevisionTurner Network Television Originals Group.
